  • Ancient Bristlecone Star Trails

    Ancient Bristlecone Star Trails

On a cold night in the White Mountains of California another photographer and myself climbed to the Ancient Bristlecone forest where the oldest known tree in the world is believed to live. The place is the Methuselah Forest and it is magical. This is a series of merged photos and I'm delighted with the colors. Notice the North Star perched on the tip of the branch. This image won a 1st place ribbon at the Reno Photo Club Division A Nature Competition This image is edited in a 2x3 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. Remember, if you choose to purchase a canvas print you will lose some of the edges to the wrap unless you chose the thin canvas for which you will still lose some of the image in the wrap. Your size choices would be 4x6 8x12 16x24 Etc

  • Bonsai Rock Milky Way - Lake Tahoe

Bonsai Rock Milky Way - Lake Tahoe

This dazzling display of galactic center was captured at nearly 3:00am on a beautiful still evening at Lake Tahoe. I was amazed by the end result and I consider this to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. This image is edited in a 2x3 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. Remember, if you choose to purchase a canvas print you will lose some of the edges to the wrap unless you chose the thin canvas for which you will still lose some of the image in the wrap. • Quartz Mountain Milky Way

    Quartz Mountain Milky Way

This is the San Rafael Mine Headframe at Quartz Mountain near Broken Hills, NV. I know that's a mouthful. I have dreamed of capturing this strikingly beautiful head frame with the Galactic Center to the right for a very long time. It was only luck and fate that Jupiter, the bright star in between the struts of the head frame, would be in such a perfect position. Saturn is the bright star to the left of Jupiter. It feels good to have a dream shot come to fruition. • Comet Neowise

    Comet Neowise

I was excited to get the opportunity to capture this image of Comet Neowise in July 2020. This comet makes a rare appearance and is not expected to come through again for another 4,000 years. I also chose to put this in a tall 2x3 aspect ratio and in portrait so I could capture the full Big Dipper which has been enhanced to make it stand out against the billions of other stars captured in this long exposure. I was lucky enough to catch the double tail of this comet, something that other photographers were aspiring to accomplish. Be sure to look for the Hole in the Mountain image I took when I turned the camera to the south after taking this image. This image is edited in a 2x3 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way and astro images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. Your size choices would be 4x6 8x12 16x24

  • Hole in the Mountain Milky Way

Hole in the Mountain Milky Way

This photo was taken in the Broken Hills area of Nevada. I was taking pictures of Comet Neowise and turned the camera to see that the Milky Way was laying over the Hole in the Mountain. This image is edited in a 2x3 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. Your size choices would be 4x6 8x12 16x24

  • Carp Boat - 2nd View

    Carp Boat - 2nd View

I fell in love with this carp boat at Walker Lake, NV and while I was out I took this second angle just to see if I could get a good landscape perspective and get a good look at the galactic center. I'm very pleased with the results. • Aurora Stamp Mill - Composition

    Aurora Stamp Mill - Composition

This is a composition of one of the few remaining structures in the ghost town of Aurora, NV. Mark Twain, when he was Samuel Clemens lived in this town in his younger days and actually dated my husbands Great Aunt until her father made her break it off because he found Clemens to be a "N'er do well". I created this composition as a birthday present to my husband to hang over his recliner. He preferred this angle of the stamp mill and the Milky Way is actually from a different photo shoot. Your size choices would be 4x6 8x12 16x24 Etc We printed it 20x30 and it's spectacular. We did not print metallic. We did a luster finish.

  • All That Remains of My Once Golden Dreams

All That Remains of My Once Golden Dreams

One day we went to get photos of a carp boat near Hawthorne, NV and after a long evening of astro photography I was asked if I wanted to go home or move on to another subject. My response was, "I have this idea." I told him that I had an idea of finding an abandoned mine shaft, have the Milky Way erupting from the shaft and give it the name I gave this photo. • Hawthorne, NV Yacht Club

    Hawthorne, NV Yacht Club

One evening we went to the ghost town of Bodie, CA to do some astrophotography only to find a forest fire in Lee Vining south of Bodie. This fire caused a complete obstruction of the Milky Way so we headed east and found ourselves in Hawthorne, NV. I'd heard that there was an abandoned carp boat in the desert where a lake shore once existed. Shortly before the sun set over Mount Grant we saw a shadow of the boat in the distance and I quickly set up the cameras and waited for the Galactic Center to take position. After being interrupted by a cauldron of bats and the approaching howls of coyotes we finally settled into the photo shoot and were rewarded with incredibly clear skies. The smoke from the distant fires seemed to enhance the colors of the Milky Way. I later found out that the lake where the boat is was once full of carp which were fished and sent to San Francisco for the Asian population. Years of irrigation up stream have depleted the levels of the lake and the water has become alkaline. Fish and wildlife can no longer exist here and therefore the boat was abandoned. I hope it remains here for years to come. • Fort Churchill Star Trails

    Fort Churchill Star Trails

NOTE: On February 19th, 2020 This image won a 1st place ribbon at the Reno Photo Club Division A Color Competition One night I was acting particularly bored and my husband asked me what I wanted to do. I told him I wanted to go to Fort Churchill and shoot star trails. After arriving at Fort Churchill with the intention of setting the intervalometer and sleeping in the car for three hours a helicopter with search lights threatened to ruin every single shot. Mosquitoes nearly destroyed the fun and when I woke up and walked over to retrieve the camera I found out that I only got 40 photos instead of the several hundred I had intended. After returning home, taking a nap and starting processing I was incredibly happy with the results of this image. Someone told me the place was haunted and I had started to believe it was true with all the problems we were having. • Sage Hen Marsh Milky Way

    Sage Hen Marsh Milky Way

During a hike on the Sage Hen Creek I decided that this marshy meadow would make a good setting for a rising Milky Way. The marsh was covered with Bistort and Quamash Camas Lilies and the open sky was heavenly. After a 2.5 mile hike to the marsh at 1:00 am in bear country I got my camera equipment set up and started shooting. I got a lot of lovely shots that night and turned my camera to the sunrise in the early morning hours to get some other great shots. This is one of my favorite shots of the Milky Way. There were so many pinpoints of light and the Galactic Center was so deep. • Aurora Stamp Mill - Star Trails

Aurora Stamp Mill - Star Trails

This photo of the Stamp Mill in Aurora, NV places the North Star above the mill and allows the rotation of the earth to create a beautiful display of stars. The original intention was to include longer star trails but because the skies were so void of light pollution the image offered thousands of star points. This image is edited in a 2x3 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. A Luster non-glossy paper would be nice also. Remember, if you choose to purchase a canvas print you will lose some of the edges to the wrap unless you chose the thin canvas for which you will still lose some of the image in the wrap. Your size choices would be 4x6 8x12 16x24 Etc

  • Aurora Stamp Mill - Milky Way

Aurora Stamp Mill - Milky Way

This photo of the Stamp Mill in the Ghost Town of Aurora NV provides a beautiful dark sky image of the Milky Way. It was difficult to get this angle on the mill and involved sitting precariously in a steep tailings pile. The display of the galactic center was well worth the two days it took to get this shot. • Comet Neowise and Desert Canoe

    Comet Neowise and Desert Canoe

Several Months ago we found this wooden and aluminum canoe out in the middle of the desert. It is no where near any water source. It is literally an hours drive from water and behind a hill in the middle of sand and sagebrush. I had plans to come out and do so Milky Way Photography of this boat but I had to turn the camera to see if I could capture Neowise in the frame. Fortunately, a meteor blasted by Neowise at the exact second that I released the shutter. This image is edited in a 4x5 aspect ratio and as with all my Milky Way images, I would suggest that you print it on metallic paper. Remember, if you choose to purchase a canvas print you will lose some of the edges to the wrap unless you chose the thin canvas for which you will still lose some of the image in the wrap. Your size choices would be 4x5 8x10 16x20 Etc
